Sweat Drink Eat Repeat

With my increase in training volume, I’m finding it pretty hard to satiate my appetite on a daily basis. No amount of Luna bars, peanut butter or loaves of bread can fill me up when I’m spending all of my free time laced into my Mizunos or staring at the bottom of the pool.
But this weekend, I had a EUREKA moment when I found a way to ensure I am replenishing all of the calories that I burn no matter how many miles I swim bike or run: booze filled brunches.
On Saturday, I joined a group of 9 men and 1 other lonely female for an 18 mile long run along the C&0 Towpath.
The guys all decided to keep the mileage around 12, so this other chick and I took off. Check out the splits from our run:

My marathon goal pace is a 7:38, so I was pretty ecstatic with the last half of our long run. Especially since the pace felt totally comfortable, we kept chatting and my legs were feeling fresh when we ended the run and met the boys at a local brunch hot spot.
This bar offers the magic option of allowing you to choose an entree and for a measly 10 dollars more, get unlimited mimosas and bloody marys. And our server? She poured the mimosas just the way I like them: filled to the brim with champagne and a splash of orange juice.
After spending a hefty part of my Saturday tackling my 18 mile run calorie deficit, I repeated all of the fun on Sunday with 2 hours and 15 minutes of spinning followed by a new brunch spot that was even more magical than the Saturday locale.
I’m sure you’re saying to yourself: what’s better than following up an endurance training session with good food and unlimited drinks? Answer: unlimited drinks AND unlimited food.
