RACE DAY

It’s finally RACE DAY.

I rolled into Rochester yesterday evening, with approximately 12 race outfits, multiple hydration options, and $30 worth of junk food fuel in tow.
I am staying with the super fast, super fly Jen B. from my favorite running team and let me tell you, this woman is AMAZING. She stocked the fridge with season beer for my arrival, made sure to have plenty of puffins on hand, cooked me a huge carb feast, AND encouraged me to finish off the last of the parmesan cheese.

She doesn’t know it yet, but I’m totally moving in at the end of the weekend.
Despite the fact that I still don’t know what I’m wearing and the race starts in about two hours, I am SO ready to do this thing.

I am ready to have a blast. I am ready to be miserable. I am ready to make new friends. I am ready to run alone and enjoy my time on the road. I am ready to hurt. I am ready to show this race that I am physically and mentally prepared to not just finish, but finish strong. I am ready for the lows. And I am SO ready for the highs.
50 miles, let’s go.
(I am going to attempt to teach my mom how to tweet race updates, but no promises, you may just see a lot of butt dials on my twitter feed today).
